The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Hey Z! I reckoned this post might interest you, so I guess I'll just dedicate it to you. Lol.

Look at what I found in my garden a few days ago...
A caterpillar!

What?! It's not like I get to see one every day in my very own garden! And plus, I don't think I've ever seen one so huge!

Just look at it! Ain't it dainty?

I got to witness a caterpillar munching (It 'munches' right, Z?) off a leaf for the very first time and it's the cutest thing ever! It eats really really fast! But it takes really long breaks in between munches.

It rained for a bit, and when it stopped I came out to check on the caterpillar and found it hanging like that ^.

The caterpillar reminded me of this book:
My favourite book when I was a child. =)

I'm sure everyone read that book when you were all teeny, tiny and whiny!

Anyway, my maid moved it to another plant opposite my house cause it had apparent balded my mum's plant. So I guess I won't get to observe the metamorphosis. Boohoo.

Pretty & pink.

Peace out.

"French Maid" Costume - Malaysian Style

Goddd, what's wrong with the National Islamic Students Association of Malaysia??

'School uniform sexy, says group' read the headline of the article that caught my eye in the newspapers a few days ago.

Seriously??
Anybody turned on??

The white top is, allow me to quote the student association’s vice-president Munirah Bahari, "too transparent for girls and it becomes a source of attraction to men, who are drawn to it, whether or not they like looking at it”.

WTF.

That's just absurd; and a complete low blow to men. But men who actually get turned on by school girls in uniform are just effing sick.

The things people will do/say just to get that few minutes of fame. Does she know no shame? Does she have no pride?

With mentalities like such, achieving Vision 2020 seems beyond us.

Is It Too Late To Get Off?

[Inspired by Janoz's 'Twenty Years Later' entry.]

I can't probably say the same things as you, Jan.

Not at this point in my life;

Where the ground below me seems so shaky.

1 year, 5 months and 3 weeks later...

I find myself at a similar crossroad where I once was

1 year, 5 months and 3 weeks later...

I realise I've been riding on the wrong track.

Clueless about where I'm heading.

Clueless about what I'm doing.

Clueless.

Yet I know I'm on the wrong track.

Riding one that goes against my passion.

My joy.

My personality.

Myself.

I am unhappy.

But is it all too late?

Too late to rectify the past?

To correct my decisions?

I am miserable.

Will I still be, twenty years later?

Tête-à-tête

After much stress and sleepless nights from the mad rush of assignments, I finally found some space to breathe again as I handed in one of my last two assignments yesterday.

Friday, 16 May 2008:

I decided to spend my 'me' time with Densy since we haven't hung out for months.

A week ago, I redeemed tickets for the screenings of international films. It was in conjunction with the French Film Festival that has been running this week. Densy was excited having told her I had complimentary tickets. So I picked her up after class that day and headed off to OU.

This was the first movie we watched:
If You Love Me Follow Me

Supposedly under the genre of comedy but it wasn't the L-O-L sort. More satirical than humorous, which I guess made it somewhat different. Not too bad la. Densy enjoyed it.

Once again, Malaysia being all-that-"gay" had certain parts of the film censored. What was hilarious was how it was done—manually. Someone was actually sitting in the screening room while the film was running and used what was probably paper to cover up the R-rated sections.

Noticed that I said the movie above was our first movie. Well, I redeemed 3 pairs of tickets and Densy said we should just use them all seeing today was the last day of the French Film Festival.

And so we did.

This was the second movie we caught:

Not Here To Be Loved

I've always known French films to be long and draggy, and this movie definitely justifies that stereotype. "The story moves to a graceless rhythm of awkward silences and misjudged social interactions" (Ide 2007). A very 'grey sky, brown leaves' film, filled with melancholy.

The final movie we saw which was almost immediately after the second one:
Tell No One

Ah, the one I had been looking forward to all night. A crime thriller. It certainly lived up to my expectations. The plot was pretty complex but the twists were really good. The audience were always kept in the dark as nothing is quite as it seems . It had everything a thriller should have— hectic chases, fiendish conspiracies, foul play—and more. Definitely, the best out of the three. Enthralling, engaging and gripping. Kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole 2 hours.

A splendid movie to conclude a great night.

We were all 'smiles'.

p/s: Anybody care to join me on my next movie marathon?

My tennis idol is retiring...effective IMMEDIATELY???

Which c**t retires IMMEDIATELY?!

And 2 weeks before the start of Roland Garros (her favourite tournament)?!

Arrgh!

This is so bloody GAY!

SIGH.

I'm so upset.

This is depressing.

Justine Henin
Je t'aimerai pour toujours.

Your majestic one-handed backhand, I will miss.

A Dilemma

...but it isn't mine.

Given a hypothetical situation:

2 brides/grooms stand at the alter. One is head over heels in love with you whereas you are willing to step in front of a moving train for the other one.

So who do you choose to be your lawful wedded wife/husband; to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do both of you part?
Who would you choose?

The one who loves you

The one you love

Thanks mates. =)

To All Mothers

I don't need a special day to tell my mummy how much I love her.
I don't need a special day to kiss my mummy.
I don't need a special day to appreciate my mummy.
I do it every day.

But nonetheless...

Unloading

Sometimes...

I just feel like pouring everything out.

I feel like standing at the top of the mountain and just scream my lungs out.

I feel like telling someone to just shut the 'bleep' up.

I feel like crushing boxes and breaking bones.

I feel like speeding down the highways at 180km/h.

But I don't. Cause my very old car can barely notch 120 without feeling like it's going to fall apart. No. That's not the point.

Sometimes, I really just wish people could know ME. But telling on myself would probably only attract sympathy, which I really don't need. Nor charity. (But I wouldn't turn it down. Kidding.) I just want empathy.

But I still won't tell. Cause I can't, and I won't, and therefore I shan't.

Whoever said life is simple probably never lived.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone has problems. Personal, non-personal, whatever. Thus, I don't need to publish an autobiography, detailing my every dilemma, predicament or life issue. Cause firstly, that would be selfish of me. And secondly, I doubt my autobiography would even sell. Hah.

Cheers.

p/s: Sometimes I do feel C****tianity is just a whole lot of bull.

Tag No. 4

Tagged by Ruwan on Monday, 7 April 2008.

The Rules:
  1. Link your tagger and post this rules.
  2. List 8 random facts about yourself.
  3. Tag 8 people.
  4. And let them know they've been tagged.
8 random facts about yours truly:
  • I'm afraid of closing my eyes when I bathe.
  • I also always need a night light in my room cause I can never ever fall asleep alone in complete darkness.
  • I don't get along well with Taureans. I'm cynical like that. But unless you're a dog, then I guess I can make an exception.
  • I wouldn't say I'm a dangerous driver. I would say I'm an exciting driver. Thrilling even.
  • I'm also a road bully. There, I admit. But only at times. It depends on my mood and on who's sitting in the passenger's seat.
  • I have a short fuse. Like really really short. Sometimes, I feel I ought to attend anger management classes.
  • After a call I made to an intended receiver was missed, it truly annoys the hell out of me to receive a message from that person which reads: "Hey. You called?". *Rolls eyes*
  • I would choose driving a stick over an auto transmission any time babeh! (But with the exception of traffic jams. Given that circumstance, I may need to reconsider.)
Tag 8 people?? That's tough. I can't think of 8 people who'd do this. But anyway, I tag:
  • Wong Zhi Hoong (Seeing how you love doing tags!)
  • Seok (Now you've got 24 to do. Haha!)
  • Tiff (Your finals will be over soon, so you should have lots of time on your hands. And plus, 8 random facts about yourself can't be hard to come up with, given the person that you are. Lol!)
  • Ru (Can I tag you again? Then you'll have to come up with another 8. Tee hee.)
  • Zong (Not that you will ever do this. Or maybe you can surprise me. Hehe.)
  • Cal (Time to uncover 8 random facts about YOURSELF.)
  • Lindy Dindy (Faye, I didn't tag you cause I know Lindy will be tagging you. Right, Lindy?)
  • Sue (Whenever you get back from Penang la. I hope you ate my share of Assam Laksa for me!)
Oh, that's 8 already!

Sweet.
