True (segment 'Faubourg Saint-Denis')

My assignment has bogged me down this whole week. Blargh!

Anyway, for some tension relief, this is one of the short films from the movie Paris, je t'aime. One of my favourite.

p/s: The male actor is genuinely blind in real life.

Sexy Bee-yotch!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Oh, don't we look so young & innocent. =)

But we love looking like bitches, don't we?

'Your birthday is a special time to celebrate the gift of 'you' to the world.'

So here's a toast to YOU:
  • for all those late Mah Jong nights
  • for all those spontaneous random outings
  • for all those Starbucks beverages (Me love very very much!)
  • for being a pain in the arse (at times. Lol!)
  • for being my bitching-partner-in-crime
  • for being my pillar of support
...and most importantly,
  • for being such a wonderful friend
I *heart* you, Zong!

XOXO!

Love,
Ju

Just Another One of Those Days

I had one of those days.

You know the ones where you wake up late in the morning, have your breakfast then only brush your teeth, but don't bother getting out of your jammies because you don't need to, and that's cause you've got nothing to do the whole day...at all. Yep, those days.

(I'm on my mid-term break, if you couldn't already guess. )

However, I actually don't have "nothing" to do. In actual fact, I have tons to do.

Like completing my assignment which is due on the day I return to uni.

Like catching up on my studies.

Like cleaning up my room which is still in a mess.

Like disorganising my room before I can organise it.

Like LOSING WEIGHT.

Like thinking about whether I should go vegan......for ANIMAL RIGHTS! And well, hopefully to lose some weight too la.

Like wearing my retainers again to curb my binging.

Like ... ... ... ...

Pulp \ˈpəlp\ n.

1. A soft, moist, shapeless mass of matter.
2. A magazine or book containing lurid subject matter and being characteristically printed on rough, unfinished paper.

N*gg* accent:

"This is one good piece of mthrfckn' sh*t. You have just gotta watch this piece of sh*t to know what it taste like, man. Ya know what I mean?"

p/s: No offence intended.

Counting My Chickens After They've Hatched

Football related news:

Come on...after yesterday's results, Man Utd is obviously going to be numero uno when the season concludes.

To Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool fans:
"Better luck next time."

Cheers. =)

When you've fallen the hardest,

cut the deepest,

cried the longest,

and then realise,

emptiness.

Emptiness in the heart;

emotionally detached from all entanglement

is when I sometimes feel,

truly liberated.

When OUR country is led by an idiot like that is when I truly feel most embarrassed to be waving the Malaysian flag, yelling 'Malaysia Boleh!', driving my Proton Satria and calling myself a Malaysian.

This Just In

Eliot Spitzer, New York's Governor, has finally decided to step down after putting his family, especially his wife through much undeserved and unfair humiliation. For those who haven't caught wind of this news which has been stirring up quite a buzz in the media, Eliot Spitzer is alleged to have succumbed to the services of prostitution . Ah...it all sounds too familiar. Yet again, another politician is caught embroiled in a sex scandal and the person who is most victimised is not the guilty party but the family of the one who has sinned. Is it at all fair that the ones who have to suffer most are the ones who love him the most?

In other news, Barack Obama looks set to walk the red carpet right into the White House. Almost, at least. It seems foremost certain now that he would be the Democratic Party's candidate for presidency having clinched the state of Mississippi. I am somewhat saddened as I was rooting for Hilary Clinton. Then again, this has completely nothing to do with me, so I really shouldn't be wasting time engaging in such news.

I have no idea why I'm blogging about US politics when our own country is amidst a political frenzy. But I suppose sites like Malaysia Kini, have every single Malaysian news well beyond covered, which is great, really. It's about time our voices be heard. It's about time we speak up. It's about time we speak out.

Come on Malaysia, majulah ke Wawasan 2020!

p/s: I think I've reached a whole new level of cheesy-ness. Blargh. 'Just shoot me'.

Still Young

I accompanied my mum to Amcorp Mall today (Wednesday) to some Chinese Feng Shui shop. The owner of the shop is from Mainland China (she can speak English but it's as good as me speaking Mandarin) and I was trying my best to help translate for my mum as well as make small conversation with her in my rusty Mandarin. As I was in the midst of explaining to her how I've not practised my Mandarin for almost 7 years now seeing that I'm already in university, she suddenly looked at me stunned.

"你已经在大学??"
(You're already in university??)

"是的. 你认为我是多少岁?"
(Yeah. How old did you think I am?)

"我以为你十五岁. 你的脸很年轻."
(I thought you were only 15 years old. Your face looks very young.)

Swt.

The fact that my teen years are about to end and age twen-TY is looming near, I'm not sure if that can still be considered a compliment.

On this subject, my mum's cousin who saw me a few weeks ago thought I was only 12. Double swt.

Heck, I'll take whatever they said as a compliment but I think being taken for a 12-year-old is a bit much la.

p/s: I guess my teen years are far from ending. =P

Please Help Find Her

Monday, 3 March 2008:

Watchedwith Nick, Nette and Nette's friend (Edwin, was it?). Nette had premier tickets and made us tag along with her kindly invited us along. =)

But before the movie, we satisfied our hunger at

"I think I'm gonna need a straw."

"Kids, check out daddy's equipments..."

TR's Chocolate Avalanche

"Ahhh...the best!"

Nette & I

She didn't dare look inside the flower.

What's up la, Kwang?

The kids.

And now also showing...

Anyway, the movie in one word was - complicated. I didn't really get the story line but I'll give Ben Affleck credit for his directing début la.

Paris, I Love You

Friday, 29 February 2008:

Watched this...which was really awesome. I loved the different sides of the movie. The different approaches it took to explain about love. It's a movie that sets itself apart from the rest. A creative artsy fartsy movie. A movie that will touch anyone and everyone. Heck, it's after all, a movie about Love.

It's a great watch.

Trust me, you wouldn't be disappointed.

p/s: You can read all about the movie here.
