I Feel Good!

I've absolutely forgotten what I did yesterday.

*Thinking*

... ... ... ... Nope. Nothing.

But anyway, I can still recall what I did the day before yesterday. So that pooh-poohs any sign of amnesia. It was my last day of exam. Nyeh. Paper was so-so. Not likely to fail...not likely to score very high either. But whatevs. Anyhoo, putting that aside, had lunch and caught a movie after my paper with the girls, Sue & Ros.

Hilarious stuff. I loved the movie! As the British would say, I was 'chuffed to bits'. Although we missed the first 15 minutes. First reason being, we watched the movie at TGV. Therefore, no commercials before movies. Therefore, movie normally starts on time. And if you are unlucky enough, it might just even start early. Second reason and probably the more significant of the two, we took 30 minutes deciding where to eat for lunch. Nuff said.

That was Tuesday. Skipping Wednesday cause I still can't recall what I did.

Thursday. Today.

Nyeh. Expected too much. Dammit.

Nonetheless, thank God for ANGELINA JOLIE! HOT HOT HOT! (At this point, I sense some of you might think I'm giving off some sort of gay vibe. Well, too bad. I don't freaking give a damn cause she is effing hot and you don't need to be gay to know that!)

Moving on.

Ooh...got to bowl. Finally! Been dying to bowl. But blargh. Didn't manage to go beyond 100 points, but I was close. Oh...I'll get there! Anyway, we didn't think seeing one movie was enough for the day. So we decided to catch

later that night after having heard much about it.

But before that, I had my ballet concert rehearsal. Ah yeah...keeping myself occupied. Hee. (See Z! I need a longer break! So much to do, so little time! Oh, I'll smack you all right for wanting hols to end sooner!) Anyway, my ballet school holds a school concert annually. And for this year's concert, the girls and I will be reprising the same Hawaiian dance we did a few months back for an event. (Can't recall if I ever blogged about it, but pictures are on my facebook.) So today was our first rehearsal, and concert is next Saturday and Sunday. Go us!

That's that. Now back to the movie. Caught the 9:30pm one. Kenneth picked me up and we met his friends inside the hall since we were 5 minutes away from being late. Not my fault. (And not like anyone is asking either, right?) We settled in our seats and enjoyed the movie. Had a good laugh but I almost wished I didn't have an olfactor cause the guy sitting on my right had the worse BO everrr! Ugh! Goddd...some people just don't know the existence of deodorant! Or soap for that matter!

Okay. That's how my hols have been thus far. Like today, my day starts early tomorrow too. *Flashes my million dollar smile—ka-ching!*

I don't want to know how lame I just sounded.

Tête-à-tête

After much stress and sleepless nights from the mad rush of assignments, I finally found some space to breathe again as I handed in one of my last two assignments yesterday.

Friday, 16 May 2008:
I decided to spend my 'me' time with Densy since we haven't hung out for months.

A week ago, I redeemed tickets for the screenings of international films. It was in conjunction with the French Film Festival that has been running this week. Densy was excited having told her I had complimentary tickets. So I picked her up after class that day and headed off to OU.

This was the first movie we watched:

If You Love Me Follow Me

Supposedly under the genre of comedy but it wasn't the L-O-L sort. More satirical than humorous, which I guess made it somewhat different. Not too bad la. Densy enjoyed it.

Once again, Malaysia being all-that-"gay" had certain parts of the film censored. What was hilarious was how it was done—manually. Someone was actually sitting in the screening room while the film was running and used what was probably paper to cover up the R-rated sections.

Noticed that I said the movie above was our first movie. Well, I redeemed 3 pairs of tickets and Densy said we should just use them all seeing today was the last day of the French Film Festival.

And so we did.

Not Here To Be Loved

I've always known French films to be long and draggy, and this movie definitely justifies that stereotype. "The story moves to a graceless rhythm of awkward silences and misjudged social interactions" (Ide 2007). A very 'grey sky, brown leaves' film, filled with melancholy.

The final movie we saw which was almost immediately after the second one:

Tell No One

Ah, the one I had been looking forward to all night. A crime thriller. It certainly lived up to my expectations. The plot was pretty complex but the twists were really good. The audience were always kept in the dark as nothing is quite as it seems . It had everything a thriller should have— hectic chases, fiendish conspiracies, foul play—and more. Definitely, the best out of the three. Enthralling, engaging and gripping. Kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole 2 hours.

A splendid movie to conclude a great night.

We were all 'smiles'.

Wendy's

Having survived half the day yesterday (Thursday), I really needed to de-stress. I buzzed Cal and we headed off to Sunway Pyramid after my class.

And of course, we had to try the surprisingly-not-much-talked-about Wendy's. (Cal was lucky to catch me on my non-vegan day.)

Cal ordered a shrimp burger while I had a crispy chicken burger. As I unwrapped my burger, I was mildly disappointed to be presented with this:

A piece of meat, a pathetic piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato and mayo slopped on one side of the bun. All that sandwiched between 2 burger buns. Oh, and I hate tomato and mayo! So all I had left was my chicken meat and that pathetic piece of lettuce for filling. How appetizing. Nyeh. Nothing to shout about.

Moving on.

We walked for a bit to allow the unsatisfying, unhealthy, high calorie food to digest before heading off to the arcade to engage in some brainless but harmless fun. It was good to get my mind off uni work. Very therapeutic. Highly recommended if anyone is looking to de-stress.

Moving on.

We decided to catch a movie too. It was between Definitely, Maybe or this:

Quite obviously, we chose the latter. I guess it wasn't too bad since I wasn't really expecting much. Nonetheless, it makes for a good lol movie. However, if the Film Censorship Board of Malaysia could not get any more retarded, it did. They cut scenes from the romantic comedy movie. What scenes could there possibly be in a movie as such that would have been so inappropriate to watch? Seriously. Geez.

Moving on.

After the movie, we made our way to Ole-ole Bali to chill out. We spilled thoughts as we enjoyed our drinks. And that pretty much concluded my Thursday.

Paris, I Love You

Watched this...which was really awesome. I loved the different sides of the movie. The different approaches it took to explain about love. It's a movie that sets itself apart from the rest. A creative artsy fartsy movie. A movie that will touch anyone and everyone. Heck, it's after all, a movie about Love.

It's a great watch.

Trust me, you wouldn't be disappointed.
